Thats just true with anything though, microwaves are just unusually bad about it. There will always be some level of disparity between different things being heated at different rates.

He meant that the unpopped ones are the hardest of the bunch, and that your everyday popcorn kernel is not that hard. (Dont know if i agree though, testing will be needed)
