+29 Your mullet/mustache combo is lame. amirite?

by SlowIntroduction 1 week ago

"You're just a trend follower" Yes. That is how styles work.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I mean all due respect to OP but to think that calling people's hair "lame" will make them change it is insane . I wear my hair whatever it is for me and idgaf what people think , especially if it's a mullet mustache combo

by Anonymous 1 week ago

People have the right to whatever style they want, just as we have a right to judge their hair style. Mullets get no respect. They are trashy and make it look like you want to bang your sister. Hated them when they were in style in the past, and hate them even more on youth today. So by all means, get that mullet cut. Just understand the majority of the world isn't going to respect you with it.

by Majestic-Pen-6217 1 week ago

Yeah you BANG YOUR SISTER BECAUSE YOU STYLE YOUR HAIR

by Middle-Cook2808 1 week ago

It'd a dead giveaway! Makes it easy to know who to associate with!

by Majestic-Pen-6217 1 week ago

True. And this particular one looks absurdly terrible.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

While I agree that OP is misguided, that's not exactly how styles always work. Some people are trendsetters or just rock something that's not a trend yet are still very stylish.

by Tpurdy 1 week ago

It's a legit unironic style where I live.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Oz?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

NZ probably

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Nah it's big in Australia. Mostly cause most footy players have one. I used to, but my curls got more curly and now I can't grow my hair out anymore

by Anonymous 1 week ago

But tbh Australia is basically beeing ironic as a nation.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

What?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Bogans love em.

by Ok-Recognition 1 week ago

Busines at the front, party at the back.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I had an Aussie once tell me I was a "Canadian bogan girl" no clue what she meant

by FitSituation 1 week ago

Bogan = Australian red neck/hick Or I suppose for a more Canadian variant, a degen from up country.

by Ok-Recognition 1 week ago

Isnt a Bogan more urban than a redneck , UK version would be a chav, Irish one a Skanger, Scotland , are Neds still a thing?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah more urban, like white trashy, but not trailer park trash. Like 6 trucks infront of the house cause your front door is always open and friends/family constantly rock up to the party.

by Maximum-Sandwich 1 week ago

What even is upcountry for Quebec?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Okay so she was being a rude bitch

by FitSituation 1 week ago

It's every dude I see walking around Fortitude Valley on Saturday night.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It started as an ironic style in America, but now young people deadass think it's cool. I just can't. Reminds me of those cringe yearbook photos from the 80s.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I feel very attacked.

by Small_Detective 1 week ago

The beatings will continue until style improves!

by Anonymous 1 week ago

That's how a lot of styles start. Bordering on absurd. The mullet is a very low maintenance and easy hair style, people are looking past that. Its recognized as you put effort in how your hair looks, without it actually requiring effort.

by ernestine54 1 week ago

Im not sure if it's true but I read that the mullet was a practical style to protect the neck from sunburn with the front cropped for visibility.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

A dude with a mustache/mullet combo def stole this babies girl

by Ambitious-Pepper3222 1 week ago

More unpopular: I actually thing it's a good look for a lot of dudes. Not for me, but many dudes pull it off just fine

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah I can't pull it off myself but I respect it

by cartwrightdevin 1 week ago

I think it looks terrible but I assume that's what everyone thinks about the next generation hair style. If I complain I date myself. Not to mention I have never had any sense of style. I don't get it but whatever makes you happy….

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Is it next generation when it's revival of past mistakes? Lol

by Old_Post 1 week ago

Humans began keeping records thousands of years ago, and are supposed to have existed for hundreds of thousands of years prior to that. Unless the hair style requires something that simply did not exist, in any form, nor has anything with similar properties ever existed, then their is a very good chance that some group of people, somewhere, has already done that.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

No such thing as anyone looking good with a mullet!!

by Old_Post 1 week ago

Kurtis Conner

by dell38 1 week ago

Looks like Ron Jeremy. Haha

by Old_Post 1 week ago

What if you're 48 and have been rocking a mullet and tache since you hit puberty in the early 90's?

by Round_Win_1928 1 week ago

That's just Joe Dirt DNA, keep digging that garden brother!

by ednaswift 1 week ago

You probably prey in parks now

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It's sporty dudes not hipsters rocking the mullets here in aus.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

And bogans.

by Old_Post 1 week ago

Yes plenty of bogans

by Anonymous 1 week ago

its cocaine taking party people in UK

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yes it's mostly the athletes and gymbros in the younger ages in the US at least near me

by Tpurdy 1 week ago

Its just hair man

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I know, just what I heard was going on. I have nothing against a mullet

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Every hair style is a trend lol

by Anonymous 1 week ago

This.. are we taking crazy pills or something??

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Almost the rest of the world finds that combo dumb, not sure where you live where this is unpopular.

by Exotic_Mistake_5770 1 week ago

Canada, US, UK, Nz, AUS are part ofthe anglosphere we are pretty kuch the same people culturally and ethnically. Only slight accents make us different

by haaghaylie 1 week ago

I mean we have whole arse cities here that are not my (White English) ethnicity Id say you wrong but also correct, its less about bein anglosphere and more to do with being western. UK, french, spain, italy, germany, USA, mexico, canada, we all have punks, we all have northface wearing wannabe gangsters we all have nerdy types we all have hippy types and we all have hipster types....we all now have pit viper wearing tache and mullet rocking cocaine taking people. Trends can be international but mostly ours are western

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I am not reffering to immigrans i am refering to the founding stocks which are predominetly anglo saxon types. The US has more of a mix with celts, scandanvians etc but the dominant for most of its existance has been anglop

by haaghaylie 1 week ago

Its quite sad, at this rate english culture will become extinct

by haaghaylie 1 week ago

I totally think this is what English culture is, diverse. We been invaded so many times, we got celtic, we got norse we got norman we got roman. We had the roma influnece the indian influence and more recently the polish influence. Don't be sad, be happy we continuing our tradition of integration

by Anonymous 1 week ago

English was invaded by who? Normans and romans, vikings? England has always been an isolated island , compared to southern europe, eastern europe and the rest of the world they have been invaded the least. Immigration only began after the second world war, outside of small quantities of colonials here and there. "English culture has always been diverse " is a lie

by haaghaylie 1 week ago

And Whatsapp unites what is left....

by National_Candy9971 1 week ago

Only someone who has never left their home country would believe this.

by Itchy_Monitor_3128 1 week ago

In the US it was originally associated with rednecks, if kids are doing it now here it has to be an ironic retro thing. It's just like trucker hats and drinking PBR in the early 2000s. Maybe in Aus it's just a normal thing. I have notices it much in the US compared to broccoli hair.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

We here in the USA don't approve of it either. It's fine to be yourself and do your own thing, but this is a dead style here. Aus and the UK are typically behind in trends so not surprised that kids over there do it.

by Elfrieda67 1 week ago

You can think it's dumb but that doesn't negate what he said.

by Exotic_Mistake_5770 1 week ago

No the fact he is wrong is what negates it

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Nah, dumb is thinking Aus or UK lead the world in anything. Fashion trends seem to trickle from the US downward, and it doesn't get much further down than those two places.

by Elfrieda67 1 week ago

And you think that the us leads the world, how does that make you any better

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Nah you really are the dumbest...like trends can start anywhere... Ever see a punk? thats a UK trend You have grass outside your house? UK trend Jordans and dunks US trend Mullet and tache Aus trend I mean Europe, especially UK, Italy and France have a deep history in setting fashion trends across the globe...US gave us jeans and baseball caps I guess

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Punk started in NYC. It took off in greater popularity in the UK but bands like The Ramones were first.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Isn't the fashion more to do with westwood? Also isnt it said NYC and London sort of had punk within literal weeks of ach other? Noted though

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Least self-absorbed American

by cartwrightdevin 1 week ago

Ever been to a NASCAR race?

by gleichnerlue 1 week ago

Thankfully, no. Watching a bunch of cars that all look the same drive around in circles doesn't appeal to me.

by Elfrieda67 1 week ago

Or you could just let people wear whatever hair they enjoy…?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

As a het woman, I love it. And I find a man experimenting and having fun with his look endearing, even if it's a trend. As if we all haven't tried a trend on for size?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Same, I find it attractive when men style themselves

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Is a "het woman" a woman who enhoys wearing hats, but said with a kiwi accent?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

it's an iconic look here in Australia

by Anonymous 1 week ago

no one does it to be "whacky" its a style, better than the broccoli head haircuts imo

by haaghaylie 1 week ago

I went to australia and got a mullet because it'd be funny

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I hate to break it to you, but the 70s/80s are more than 15 years ago by now.

by Exotic_Swim_4372 1 week ago

Well you clearly don't know about the benefits of business in the front, party in the back.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I know it's a trend but I generally find these guys are a little more openly in touch with their femininity and openess to self expression and I really like that in a typically "masculine presenting" man, personally.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Dead ass call them trend followers then tell them to follow your trend instead. Loser mentality

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Undercut or undercut with curly hair(broccoli) is the actual lamest haircut because EVERYONE has it. I would take literally anything else. Just try to be original guys, damn. That's why I don't get why this is supposedly an unpopular opinion, since most guys have an undercut and no one has a mullet. Mustache only is very rare too, that's an old men only thing. Maybe it's different in countries, but that's my experience.

by Small_Worth 1 week ago

I have really curly hair, and I just went with an afro. I have a similar hair colour as bob Ross so I get compared a lot

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Imagine thinking the mullet started 15 years ago

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Thats not what OP said

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Imagine that OP didn't say mullets started 15 years ago but said hipsters started doing it 15 years ago.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Someones mad he can't grow a beard....

by Anonymous 1 week ago

calls them trend followers tells them to get a normal haircut Which is it OP?

by Kjerde 1 week ago

I'd love to see how you look like

by Anonymous 1 week ago

As a woman I love this combo, mullet in general honestly. Who cares if it's a trend, it's the first time I recall seeing men have fun with their style. Just add a good outfit so you don't look like you crawled out of rural Australia and we're good.

by Dklein 1 week ago

It's like septum piercings

by Far-Blueberry9349 1 week ago

I think it's weird that you care this much about what other people (presumably strangers?) look like

by deanraynor 1 week ago

What is a normal haircut?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I have a porn stache but no beard because of work. I have kind of a mullet when my hair grows out because I just shave it down really low every few months or so. I'd ra th er have a beard and a nicer hairstyle lol but not worth it w my work

by No-Imagination-1076 1 week ago

Personally I prefer beards on men especially when they already have a nice face. Funny how differently we all see the same things

by kelton21 1 week ago

Who cares? It's just a hair style, what do you look like? Bet your face looks like an ugly foot

by Anonymous 1 week ago

This reminds me of that mission in GTA5 where Trevor and Michael are driving from Sandy Shores to Paleto Bay. Michael is breaking down why Trevor dresses how he does, lives where he does, and acts how he does. It's not that he doesn't care what people think, it's the opposite; he does all those things to be counter-cultural. He's a hipster.

by Maleficent-Panda 1 week ago

I feel like it suits a decent chunk of people. Although its definitely overdone

by Flashy_Property_6233 1 week ago

We are somewhere between 1983 and 1986 right now

by Kuhicana 1 week ago

What do you think the word "unpopular" actually means?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Bro discovered how trends work.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I am Gen X guy so out of the young people mindset but I was talking to my GF the other day about this trend and how all these young dudes at the gym look like Joe Dirt to me. I don't mind the trend but are you getting any pu$$y with that look lol? Being serious. Are you?

by floydspinka 1 week ago

I guess is that OP can't grow a moustache

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It looks ugly Definitely avoid any guy with that.

by UnderstandingOk619 1 week ago

Let me guess, you're bald and can't grow a beard?

by kraig81 1 week ago

Or let people wear their hair however they want

by Pretend_Square_7846 1 week ago

I'm convinced the only people who can make this work look are Australians because they don't do it to be ironic.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Wait, I'm confused. Should i not follow trends, or get a "normal" haircut? Which is it?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

The unpopularopinion in all this is your opinion that you should be making value judgements on other peoples appearance and those people in turn should care one bit for how you feel about their hair.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I wouldn't worry Bro. Only ugly funny people do this and they are chill to have at the parties. Someone has to make the girls laugh before you take them home.

by Commercial_Food 1 week ago

"Get the rat's nest off your head. Get that crazy-ass mullet off your skull. Take your ass to the barbershop. Tell the barber that you're sick of looking like an asshole." --Wesley Willis (RIP)

by Soft_Context 1 week ago

mullet/tache is following a trend? Since when?? OP from the south or something cos mullet/tache never has nor ever will be a 'trend'

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Nothing wrong with following a trend, I think guys look great with it, love when they're cute curls come out or style it spikey but it's shaped with a shaggy mullet. And moustaches are sexy as all hell, Magnum PI, hello?

by Tamarakessler 1 week ago

Mullets are cool and all, but who's gonna be brave and bring back the rat tail?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Facts. I've never seen a single decent looking person with this style. Not one.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Correct

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Sounds like someone can't grow a mustache and feels left out. In all seriousness I think tons of people just wait for a trend to not get made fun of for looking a certain way.

by ConfusionOk 1 week ago

Oh yeah because the mullet is so universally liked to begin with.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I think most of the world thinks it's hilariously dumb still

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Ugh right? Mullets are so 9th century BCE!!!

by Vandervortsabri 1 week ago

Every single male in Australia is crying

by FitSituation 1 week ago

Gen Z while growing up: All these Millenial hipsters with their big beards and Lumberjack shirts look ridiculous! Gen Z: grows mullet and mustache Millenials: Well they sure showed us!

by Streichsharon 1 week ago

Mainly guys seem to not like it

by ckirlin 1 week ago

Honestly, it makes people look like major pervs

by ActualSite5935 1 week ago

15 years ago? Aww. That's cute. 1986 would like a word.

by lina10 1 week ago

Imagine being that invested in what others do to their hair or facial hair. And then having the gall to throw around words like "cool" or "funny".

by Mysterious-Pop-755 1 week ago

Pretty popular across Europe for young people nowadays. Works really well for some, not as much for others. Like every style really.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

If its mainstream, wouldn't that make it a normal haircut?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Define normal haircut? Isn't any popular "normal" haircut also just a trend?

by tlabadie 1 week ago

15 years ago… try 40. The mullet mustache and Marlboro red combo used to come with a white grand am, typically a dragon stencil on the hood.

by Western-Wear1802 1 week ago

Ha, wow. I'm just here wondering why you're so triggered by this.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Honestly I'll take it over the 1920's look. I at the very least thank it looks funny and gives me a good laugh.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Mullets are definitely terrible. I agree. :P

by mkohler 1 week ago

100000%. It was always bad. If you have this, you ALWAYS look stupid. I live in Los Angeles and it's starting to show up a lot more here. The solo stache has been getting more popular for awhile and most people with it already just look like 70's cops or serial killers. Add in the mullet and it's horrendous. Took a trip to Australia a couple years back and it seems to be HUGE there. I'd say it's at least funnier with an Aussie accent but sad to see it really starting to make its way over here too. Only possible upside is maybe there'll be more single ladies trying to find a presentable date 🤣

by Anonymous 1 week ago

say you're old without saying you're old

by Small_Worth 1 week ago

No offense, but mullets and mustaches have been around for way longer than 15 years man. Some trends are cyclical. But I agree. They've never looked good on any single person in all of history. Pretty much the best way to let me know, without straught up saying so, that you don't want to be taken seriously whatsoever.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Not an unpopular opinion at all.

by gleichnerlue 1 week ago
